GNOME 3.4 released with a new web browser and interface improvements

The GNOME Project has released version 3.4 of the GNOME Desktop Environment for Linux and Unix, including a number of additional features, interface improvements and new applications.

New applications included in the release include a document browser and viewer named “Documents”, a new web browser named “Web” (which replaces Epiphany as the standard web browser in GNOME), and a contact manager.

Other additional features in the release include video calling, improved power settings, animated desktops, and the introduction of application menus.

GNOME, along with KDE and Unity, is one of the most commonly used desktop environments for Unix-based operating systems.
